On April 30, 1945 at 3:15 pm Berlin time, Adolf Hitler and his one day bride Eva Braun committed suicide in the so-called Fuhrerbunker beneath the German Chancellery Building. As we mark the 60th anniversary of Hitler's death, it is worth recalling the man who rose from obscurity to heights unseen since the Roman Emperors before bringing his people and much of the world to the depths of hell. What was it about this man that inspired such devotion by the German people even as he was leading them into a new age of barbarism, evil and national suicide?
