Today, the Obama Justice Department task force charged with the closing of the Guantanamo detention facility concluded that it will be necessary to hold at least 50 of the remaining detainees indefinitely without trial. This is a necessary decision that protects our country and, once again, illustrates the President's priority in protecting our security and shows, once again, the right's shameful deceit in charging the President with being soft on terrorism. It also stands in sharp contrast to the naive feel-good position advocated by the ACLU and others who blithely dismiss the danger posed to our country if we were to release all of the Guantanamo detainees.
